Auto-lock

Burrow locks the vault when you haven’t used the keyboard or mouse for a while. You can choose Off, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The default is 15.

The vault also locks when:

  • the computer goes to sleep
  • the screen locks
  • you close the window

Lock vault in the sidebar locks it right away.

Why it matters: while the vault is open, your secrets are decrypted in memory. Locking wipes the key.

Block screenshots

Block screenshots hides the Burrow window from screenshots, screen recordings and screen sharing. It’s on by default, so sharing your screen in a call doesn’t show your terminal.

Host status

Turn on host status to get a dot on every host that shows whether it’s reachable. Hosts explains how it checks.

Change the master password

You can change the master password in Settings. The new one follows the same rules: at least 12 characters, with a number and a special character.

Sync and updates

Settings → Sync is covered in Sync between devices, and Settings → Updates in Updates.
